Basheerah Enahora

The commitment to improve health through nutrition shapes Dr. Enahora’s research agenda and drives her Extension work. Dr. Enahora’s programmatic and research interests focus on four overarching areas: * Food-Is-Medicine approaches that leverage Extension-Clinical-Community partnerships to increase access to healthy food and nutrition education opportunities and reduce/prevent chronic disease. * Developing, implementing, and evaluating nutrition-based extension curricula and programs utilizing behavior change theory to improve whole family health. * Extending the reach of nutrition education and nutrition-based extension programs through the use of innovative technologies among lower-resourced and historically marginalized communities. * Providing programmatic expertise for Extension in the areas of food, nutrition, chronic disease risk reduction, nutrition-related health disparities, and food preparation.
